Tampa Honda Gives $60,000 to Support Habitat for Humanity
Habitat Hillsborough will raise roof on its 178th home
TAMPA, Fla. (February 23, 2016) – Tampa Honda, a full-service Honda dealership with the Williams Automotive Group and located in Tampa, provided $60,000 to build a home near Temple Terrace for a deserving family. On February 23, 2016, they will help Habitat Hillsborough “raise the roof” on their 178th home.
Habitat for Humanity of Hillsborough County partners with low-income homebuyers in Hillsborough County by providing them with a zero-interest mortgage, homebuyer education and multiple opportunities to complete the required 300+ hours of sweat equity.
Tampa Honda’s contribution is being used to fund the building of Habitat Hillsborough’s first block home in Hillsborough County. A team of Tampa Honda volunteers will assist Habitat Hillsborough next Tuesday to “raise the roof” on the new home. The day will be kicked off with a ceremony to thank Tampa Honda for all they do to support the community and to introduce them to the homebuyer they are helping. Then trusses will be placed throughout the day.

This is the very reason why a partnership with Habitat for Humanity is so wonderful. The Williams Automotive Group sends out employees weekly to serve in charities all over Tampa Bay.
To Priscilla, the Habitat homebuyer, “home” means more than just a structure. It means a foundation for her and her family’s future. It means stability – not having to move whenever a landlord decides to sell the place in which they live. A home is something they can call their own. She would like to build a home with Habitat Hillsborough, so her children and grandchildren have a place they can call Grandma’s house.
