Habitat for Humanity of Hillsborough County is hosting its annual Faith Build in the fall to help a local family in need of safe, affordable housing. We invite local congregations to help raise the roof, funds and prayers to make a difference right in our own community! Faith Build brings members of local congregations together to live out their faith in a new way. Together we can help a family begin their journey to strength, stability and independence through affordable homeownership. Experience first hand how God touches the hearts of new homeowners – and the volunteers who work alongside them.
FAITH BUILD PARTNER COMMITMENTS
Understanding and executing our different partner responsibilities will help ensure a successful Faith Build.
Habitat Hillsborough
• Prays for this build project.
• Selects the prospective homebuyer(s), providing a building lot and construction personnel to oversee the building of the house.
• Works collaboratively with the local congregations to encourage community engagement.
• Collaborates with participating congregations to help raise the Faith Builds Generosity Challenge.
• Provides a positive on-site volunteer experience.
• Sells the home to the partner family in accordance with Habitat for Humanity International minimum standards.
Participating Congregation:
• Prays for this build project.
• Communicates with and engages congregation members to work together to make a life-changing impact on a local family.
• Works with Habitat to plan Faith Build days and recruit volunteers.
• Commits to providing funds toward the Faith Builds Generosity Challenge through church contributions and fundraising efforts.
Congregation members choose how they’d like to serve.
As a partner in our Faith Build, there are many ways for members of your congregation to get involved – both on and off the construction site. They can help:
• Organize or participate in on-site volunteer days for your congregation.
• Make a financial contribution.
• Provide lunch for on-site workers.
• Create a welcome basket or other special items for the family.
• Participate at ground-breaking and dedication events.
• Form a prayer group for the Faith Build project.
