Congrats to our Kids’ Home Build design winners!
Congratulations to Ava Snyder, 10, and Collin Snyder, 9, winners of our Kids’ Model Home Build Competition!
Named “Sweet Modern Living,” Ava and Collin submitted their entry saying “this house represents modern living with a homey feel. Maybe this could be a house that Habitat for Humanity builds. Our mom and dad volunteered on a Habitat for Humanity house, so that’s why we wanted to participate.”
Through the competition, Habitat Hillsborough encouraged kids to get creative during these stay-at home days with by building a 3 dimensional model house out of materials of their choice.
The brother and sister team made their home using Amazon and Target boxes, copy paper, tape, acrylic paint, string lights from a dollhouse, paper towel rolls, plastic plants used for decoration around our house, plastic wrap and cardstock.
“It was a fun opportunity for kids to express their creativity and work on problem solving skills while learning a little bit about Habitat for Humanity,” said Callie Lupica, Habitat Hillsborough Volunteers Manager.
We think “junior “architects Ava and Collin did an awesome job!!
